This Privacy Policy Statement explains the policies adopted by the Chinese Underwriters Club Limited (“CUC”) in relation to the collection, sharing and retention of personal data.
1. Collection
CUC may from time to time collect personal data from you which will be stored, used or processed for the specific purpose(s) notified to you at the time of collection or for any of the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy Statement or where permitted by law. Such purposes may include but are not limited to administering your membership, handling your specific requests or applications to CUC and the processing of your enquiries, feedback or comments. Your personal data may also be used for purposes of verification and keeping records of your identity, correspondence with you relating to the services we provide, or for conducting any specific CUC business activities or functions.
The provision of personal data or any information is voluntary. However, if you do not provide sufficient information requested by the CUC, CUC may not be able to process your requests or applications.
2. Disclosure and Transfer
Personal data held by the CUC will be kept confidential but the CUC may provide such information necessary and relevant for the purposes stated above to the following parties:
(i) any personnel, agent, adviser, auditor, contractor or service provider whether located in or outside Hong Kong who provides services or advice to CUC or its members; or
(ii) any person or law enforcement agency which is entitled under applicable law to request CUC to release your personal data.
While CUC endeavours to deal only with responsible third parties, CUC does not assume responsibility for the privacy protection provided by such third parties and is not liable for any loss or damage as a result of the lack of or deficiency in privacy protection of such third parties.
3. Data Retention
Personal information you provide to the CUC will be retained only for such period as may be necessary for the carrying out of the purposes referred to in this Privacy Policy Statement or as otherwise specified at the time of collection.
4. Changes to Privacy Policy Statement
CUC may change its privacy policies from time to time and we will update this Privacy Policy Statement accordingly.
5.Access and Correction
